"The good we secure for ourselves is precarious and uncertain until it is secured for all of us and incorporated into our common life." Jane Addams
UNITY FOR ORGANIZATIONS OR COMMUNITIESOrganizations and communities come together because people that join have the belief they share common goals or ideas. The assumption is that this belief creates a bond that will transcend conflict. This is not the reality for most organizations or communities. The bond can be strong and it may be awhile before conflict and disagreements arise, but eventually they will. And one element that can greatly effect the outcome is unity. Unity is the necessary glue to keep organizations or communities flowing in the direction of the best solution for all. What's interesting about unity is how little people talk about it yet how much they expect it to be in place. But unity must be created, then nourished and maintained. So what it unity? There are many definitions but the ones that are most appropriate are "the condition of harmony" or "the quality or state of not being multiple: ONENESS" How do you achieve it? It is a process grounded in personal self-awareness that extends to the organizational or communal awareness. And it can be supported or a part of consensus, leadership, communication and empowerment. My services include (but are not limited to): Training to
establish unity and develop the deeper aspects of community
building. Facilitated discussions to bring out the tensions, challenges
